My two main interests are 1) making food systems and value chains more sustainable, healthy and fair and 2) creative and visual expression through illustrations, photography and writing.

On my website you will see how I try to combine these two interests of mine. I write about, make photos of, and illustrate situations that are, in my opinion, important to make the world we live in a better place. These could be big things, such as research on food value chains, child labour or gender issues. Or small things, such as funny daily scenes that make me smile. This website mainly serves as a spot where I can bring my ideas and creations together. If you would like to get in touch with me, feel free to send me an e-mail (see link below).

Writings

This part of my portfolio is quite messy. When you click on the button below, you will find all kinds of texts I wrote of which I thought were worth posting. For instance, a short poem, something informative for kids, some of my own thoughts and the preface of my master thesis. Some of the texts are in Dutch (sorry for that, if you’re non-Dutch speaking).

Photos

When photographing, I try to create visually and graphically satisfying images. I also like to photograph daily scenes with people or animals, because they make a picture more lively. Take a look at my gallery if you like :)

Illustrations

When I was younger, I used to draw and paint a lot. Since I started studying I’m not illustrating that much anymore, but sometimes I pick up my pencil. Also, I taught myself to edit sketches on the computer. I don’t only illustrate cute images, but I also try to communicate (difficult) information through my drawings. I will add more drawings soon.
