Vietnam

In 2019, I stayed in Vietnam for three months to do field research and coordinate the baseline data collection for a large research project focused on food systems innovations. I mostly stayed in Hanoi, but luckily I also had the chance to explore other parts of this beautiful country. It was very hard to make a selection, since I have made so many beautiful pictures. I will probably add more later on.

The photos I selected are a mix of Hanoian scenes and images of other places I visted, such as the Ha Giang region up North.

Morocco

It was only four days that I stayed in Fez in 2018, but within this short time I already got blown away by the colours, the sounds and the scents of the old city. Besides tasting many delicious and famous Maroccan dishes (vegetable tajines, harrira soup…) I also visted one of the city’s largest tanneries. The skins that are used to make leather from, are soaked in cow urine and pigeon poop to soften them up and prepare them for the dying process. Luckily, the tour guide provided me with a bundle of fresh mint leafs for under my nose against the smell…
